I have ported my Star Health Family Optima Policy -inception since 2009 to Niva Bupa in June 2023. Under porting option all pre-existing decease was covered. My wife detected prolapse UTERINE DESCENT PROLAPSE - 2 DEGREE and got operated at Sankhe Hospital -hysterectomy on 27 September 2023. We have submitted all documents for reimbursement claim with Niva Bupa on 10th October 2023. They requested us to submit original documents and have arranged an executive to visit our home to check the patient and documents.

Upon visit he requested us to share the claim documents for verification. I have shared her entire medical file where the claim documents filed. He went through entire file and have found that she has taken medicine for rheumatoid Arthritis and Hypothyroid He also have found one doctor who prescribed medicine for sleep disorder and anxiety. This executive checked the documents without my permission and have shared the same with insurance agency.

She was having medicine for Rheumatoid Arthritis and Hypothyroid but stopped all other medicines except Tofatinib 5mg twice a day and Lefno 20 Mg twice a week. Anxiety and sleep disorder issues cropped up due sudden cancellation of our eldest son marriage by bride groom which was fixed on 10th December 2022 and had the medicine only for a week. Now Niva Bupa conveyed us that they are denying our claim due to non-declaration pre-existing decease and cancelling our policy forfeiting the amount to their company.
