Ravi (fictitious name), a victim from Lucknow told ComplaintRoom that he got a call from an unknown person offering Captcha Code Job, they offered Rs. 700-800 per day for 3-4 hours daily work. After that the accused smartly got the online signatures on a fake bond of Rs. 5100+GST. As per the ComplaintRoom team, the GST number and Bonds are fake and the scammers use this only to threaten people.
As per the research of ComplaintRoom, scammers create fake websites in the name of Data Entry Jobs and Captcha Filling Jobs. They also send SMS and WhatsApp messages on random numbers and offer jobs to people. Through these messages, needy students, housewives and other unemployed people accept their offers. After accepting the job offer, the scammers send them a fake agreement. In the agreement, they mention terms and conditions like – “if you fail to complete the work on time/ or use another computer or device/ or low accuracy/ or leave the work in half, you will pay a penalty of Rs. 6000 or more”.
After this, they ask for the Pan Card and Aadhar Card details. As the scammers have all the important information now, they start their game. Scammers provide login ID and password to start the work. Anybody who has completed the work on time or not, they start sending them emails and messages like below-
“You have used another device to complete the work, so your ID is blocked/ There is low accuracy in your work/ You have left the work and breached the contract and so on… pay the penalty of Rs. 5500/-, 50K or more else ready to face legal proceedings.”
According to the various complaints made by students, housewives, and poor people on ComplaintRoom, it is extremely painful for them to work hard for 20 to 30 days straight, day and night, for a meagre allowance, only to receive threatening and blackmailing emails and calls in return. Many of them have already paid large sums of money to blackmailers as a result of threats.
After this, the scammers send fake threatening legal notices to them through email and whatsapp using any lawyer name, but never mention the address of the lawyer in notice.
They demand more money—more than one lakh rupees—through the false legal notices. Additionally, they warn in their email or message that they will abuse their Pan and Aadhar cards if they don’t pay the money.
In the past, con artists have threatened people by sending emails with bogus Gujarat Police email addresses like [email protected] and with fake Gujarat Bar Council letterhead. For this, they had also purchased the domain “ahmedabadpolice.co.in”.

ComplaintRoom also asked the victims to file FIR against the fraudsters in such cases, but the victims don’t want to face the police due to family fear. The fundamental cause, which the con artists are well aware of, is why they are profiting on their fear.
