I booked a round trip from Toronto to Delhi (Jan 8, 2022) and then back from Delhi to Toronto (March 30, 2022). I was Covid positive when got tested prior to my flight from Toronto to Delhi So I couldn’t travel on that ticket.
I tried contacting AIR INDIA but didn’t get any refund. They said I have to contact travel agency (Travelgineo) I tried contacting them but didn’t get any response either. Then I had to book another ticket (Air Canada) later on to fly from Toronto to Delhi.
I called Air India customer service a couple times to make sure my return ticket with Air India is still valid. They said I can definitely travel on that ticket without any issues.
But when I went to the airport, people at check in desk wouldn’t let me check in because they said I didn’t travel on my previous ticket from Toronto to Delhi so they didn’t let me travel on my return ticket as well.
They said I have to purchase a new ticket worth 2.5 lakh If I want to travel. I haven’t got any refund from Air India. I would like to file a complaint against them. This is very unfair and I got mentally and financially harassed.
A strict action should be taken against them. I am providing my ticket details below.
