I received a call from a person claiming Priyanka from HDFC LIFE insurance Mumbai, to pay an amount for a policy which I purchased in 2015, and promising I will get 2 lakh lumpsum amount.
I paid the said amount in June 2021. But eventually they began to give various reason such as server was not working so the amount was not reflecting and asked me to pay more amount which she promised will be refunded.
Since it's been more than 8 months I'm worried this might have been a fraud. The caller asked me to pay the amount to various other insurance company like Bharati AXA, India Life etc and to pick up verification call from such insurance company and answer them, which I did.
Payment link was sent to me through WhatsApp (WhatsApp no. [Protected].) The said link was of the above insurance companies. Later she told us that there is a pension scheme for person aged more than 60, so including everything I paid amounting to 3 lakh till now.
I received another call from a person claiming from HDFC Bank telling me that the payment will be made only after I pay DD charges on the total amount which I refused to pay. (Phone no.+[Protected]).
